The situation here has drastically gotten worse. A massive swarm of infected breached the checkpoint. I don't even know if they were from within the
state lines. It appears the influence of markus is larger then we expected. This is bigger then pineshelm, bigger then river pines maybe even bigger
then this entire state.

The virus has started like a wild fire from exposed individuals markus saturated through his travels into the town of river pines. People infected
without knowing it and only later turning after markus was long gone. Areas where quarantine wasn't even deployed. Finding markus so fast would have
been a logistical success that rivaled finding goal if we had pulled this off but this was destined to happen. Nothing is ever simple one person will always
out play a organization that has to go down a string of persons. We've been following a bread crumb trail this entire time and only now are we realizing
the trail was always intentional.

The checkpoint was overrun almost immediately. Even before that the virus had saturated it's self into the bodies and minds of the responders around
us. One officer failed a scanner after attempting to controlled burn the local way of stage 3s. His screening had come back positive other officers
fast to put him down. There is loyalty in these officers but we've seen to much to make mistakes. We had barrely reloaded and re-assessed before the
wave of infected poured down on us. They breached the northern street and begin to push us back across the river bed. Most officers died in our
defence of from exposure in the confrontation with the horde. I wouldn't be surprised if the officers were completely out of ammo from how many
corpse were dropping as they engaged the swarm.

We only barely escaped across a sand barrier with only 3 of our 5-6 person team. A single surviving officer held off the horde as long as he could
before his gun ran out of ammo and the swarm enveloped him. Eventually even Dr. Drosilvin was cornered by the swarm when he got caught in a
large patch of scrubbery. The infected poured onto him ripping his suit infecting him as I heard him scream out to me to run.

He had the samples,he had the research. It shouldn't of been him it should of been me who got cornered. What he had in his pack carries more
importance then anyone in this entire town. Or atleast that's what I've told myself. I barely escaped the river slowed them down just enough for me to
circle around back into the town and shelter. I activated my SOS beacon but my radio is done. I got pieces of a transmission out before my radio stopped
working.

I'm going to go back and see if I can recover his case secured case he had on him. Hopefully blackcell gets here before all this is in vain.

If all of this was pointless know at least I tried, We tried all of us. I made decisions that costed more lives then I'd ever want to admit. But the end
brings out truth even we ourselves refuse to admit.

If this is my final log I'm sorry I couldn't do more.
